Glasgow Hawks were attempting to wrap up their third successive title, and the hit the ground running and scoring three tries before half-time against Biggar. However, Biggar were not ready to lie down and made Hawks' winning score of 30-26 just a wee bit to close for comfort.
Ian Monaghan got in for a try just 12 minutes and Sandy Warnock finished off the second. The third was the product of a driven line out and then quick ball to centre Ally Maclay who showed his power to burst over.
Mikey Adamson converted two and kicked a penalty, however the visitors were kept in touch with a couple of Quintan Sanft penalties and when a third hit the post Hawks made a mess of clearing and from a scrum Justin Reid got over, with Sanft converting to cut Hawks lead to 22-13.
Hawks bagged the bonus point when No.8 Mark Sitch finished off a rolling maul, But with Sanft having already kicked a third penalty it got very nervy as Sanft added another penalty and then bamboozled Hawks with an up and under which produced a try for Stuart Harrison.
With Sanft converting, Hawks lead was cut to 27-26, but a long penalty success by Adamson in the final minute eased Hawks home, though Biggar have a vital bonus point in their relegation fight.
