Two second half Cammy Little penalties saw cup holders Boroughmuir crash out of this year's tournament as Glasgow Hawks edged an exciting encounter at Anniesland.
Boroughmuir took nothing from their good showing in the early stages and Hawks came back into the game towards half-time.
Chris Docherty was over the line but could not score. Then, in the final minute, Little threaded a wicked kick to the Muir corner and, with Ben Fisher dithering, Rory McKay claimed Hawks' try.
The holders again were in the ascendancy from the re-start and, in a two minute period, took the lead.
James Reilly kicked a long penalty before crisp handling sent centre Malcolm Clapperton over with Reilly converting.
Hawks rocked for a moment but, marshalled by their man of the match Little, came back to dominate the closing stages.
They forced penalties in the 62nd and 71st minutes with Fisher sin-binned for the latter as Little stroked both home to take Hawks into
