Festival of Rugby Weekend From Friday 2nd May till Sunday 4th May. (30 April 2008) The weekend kicks off on Friday evening with an Old Crocks Game between the Toothless Lions and the Barbeerians at 7.00pm. All participants (players) are to meet in the Clubhouse at 6.00pm to indulge in pre-match refreshments. This does not mean that all supporters are banned from the Clubhouse, just that there will be a goodly crowd there from 6 o'clock onwards. The game will be followed by a Barbecue - players, at least, have to eat to keep their supremely athletic bodies in shape! - and a Disco Saturday starts with a Lunch (there are still some seats left - contact Stephen Nock on 636-584) at 12.30pm for 1.00pm. Running in parallel with the Lunch is a match between our Under 18s and those of Stirling County which kicks of at 1.30pm. At 3.00pm there is the "Match of the Day" between our 1st XV and the Glasgow Hawks. Is your mouth watering? At night there will be another BBQ and another Disco. Sunday is "Kids Day" with Mini games against Paisley and Cambuslang at 12.30pm. In parallel with this will be an Under 15 game against Paisley, kicking off at 1pm After these games are finished there will be Si and S2 games against Ardrossan and Whitecraigs, kicking of at 2.00pm (near enough). These games will be followed by yet another Barbecue. ( I shudder to think what will happen if the present inclement weather is still around then. Keep your fingers crossed!) There will also be some stalls where you can spend your hard earned cash! A feature of the whole weekend is the Sale of PIG SNOUTS in aid of the Dreams 4 U Charity. This Charity is to allow young, terminally ill people to live out their dream of, for example, swimming with dolphins. Snouts will be on sale at £1 each. It could very well be an Inverclyde child who will benefit. Please give generously. No team list has been added yet.
