CLUB INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL TO IRELAND WITH CHANCE TO MAKE HISTORY
Tuesday, 06 March 2012
Scotland Club International head coach, Ally Donaldson, has made two changes to the starting XV which will play Ireland Club International at Old Belvedere, Dublin on Friday night (Friday 9 March, kick-off 6.30pm).
Fraser Harkness and Alan Dymock drop out of the squad with Harkness recalled to Scotland 7s for training and Dymock having suffered concussion during his club match at the weekend.
This sees Melrose’s Fraser Thomson move into the full-back shirt and Currie’s Dougie Fife and John Cox selected on the wing and at loosehead prop respectively.

On the bench, Dundee HSFP captain Neil Dymock comes in as a replacement for his brother.
Donaldson said: “We were very pleased with the result against France but in order to win our first game on foreign soil we must improve and lift the intensity on Friday night.
“With only two games in a season and the chance to make history we want to keep as much continuity as possible.
Scotland Club International will travel to Ireland with the opportunity to do something no other Club International side has done before. That is to win two matches in a season, to win the Dalriada Cup for the first time and to win in Ireland for the first time.
Donaldson continued: “The fact we have never won away from home in Ireland shows how much of a challenge Friday will be. The Irish side is big and abrasive, so in order to win we must combat that with pace and intensity.”
