HAWKS DEV XV PLAY SCOTLAND U/19S ON TUESDAY

Wallabies and Wales in wait

SCOTLAND'S under-19 rugby team will square up against Australia, Wales and Japan in the early stages of next year's IRB World Championship.

Peter Wright's youngsters finished tenth in this year's competition and the new batch of players will be looking to do better this time around between April 4 and 21 in Dubai.

It will be tough though, with the Aussies ranked third and the Welsh having beaten Scotland twice last season.

The competition will give a number of Capital rugby stars, including the exciting winger Dave McCall (Stew/Mel) and Watsonians' promising scrum-half Murray Bringhurst, the chance to show off their talents on a world level.

Before the visit to Dubai the age-grade side will compete in the Six Nations and they start their campaign against Italy on December 29 in Rome. Wright's men continue their preparation with a match against a Glasgow Hawks development side at Murrayfield on Tuesday (7pm, back pitches).
