Six west coast players have been named in the Scotland under-18 squad for the FIRA/AER international tournament in Madrid beginning this Friday.
The six , front rows James Malcolm, Chris Barnes, D'arcy Rae and Blair Jardine, centre Neil Herron and full back/stand-off Gavin Lowe played in the three warm-up games against Wales, England and Ireland.
Scotland suffered defeats in all three games but were competitive throughout with strong defence that unsettled their opponents.
Scotland are in the elite tier of eight countries in the competition which has a demanding schedule of three games over eight days. Scotland kick off against France who only narrowly lost to England earlier this month. The second round will then match winners with winners and losers with losers, the process repeated in round three to produce finishing places from one to eight.
