Wednesday, 02 May 2012
A former Scotland and British Lions team doctor is the sole nomination as vice-president of the Scottish Rugby Union for the forthcoming season.
Donald Macleod (Selkirk) is the lone candidate for the post when member clubs gather for Scottish Rugby’s annual meeting on Saturday 30 June.
Elsewhere on the Scottish Rugby Council an election will take place later this month to determine the two Championship division representatives with three candidates put forward – John Steele (Dumfries), Ian Barr (Lasswade) and Bob Hogarth (Peebles).
The following nominations have been received for regional representation on the Council: Glasgow North – Jim Stevenson (Cambuslang); Glasgow South – Bill McMurtrie (Paisley); Borders – Jim Greenwood (Berwick); Midlands – Graham Kerr (Alloa); North – Mike Monro (Aberdeenshire); and the new Exiles club representative – Rod Lynch (London Scottish).
An election will take place to determine the Edinburgh Regional representative as four candidates have been proposed – namely Jim Littlefair (North Berwick), Murdo Gillanders (Lismore), Iain Goodall (Portobello) and Douglas Wood (Livingston).
