Robert McAlpine, the Scottish Rugby Elite Development player who is attached to Glasgow Warriors, will move to Edinburgh Rugby next season.
Rober will join Edinburgh on a two-year contract.
McAlpine has played for Scotland's under-17 and under-18 teams as well as Glasgow's under-16 and under-17. The under-16 team won the district championship in 2008, and the same year he played for Scotland under-17 in Millfield School’s annual international festival. The following year he was in the national squad who competed in the under-18 Five Nations Festival in Italy. He was Glasgow Academy's head boy in 2008/09 and is an AIS-supported member of Scottish Rugby's Academy and in 2010 was selected for the IRB JWC in Argentina where he earned three caps.
He is now a vital part of the 2011 Scotland under-20 6 Nations Championship squad.
His great-uncle, Angus Cameron, played for Scotland an the British Lions, and another great-uncle, Donald Cameron, also was a Scotland cap.
