Murray McConnell, the Glasgow Warriors EDP scrum-half, will captain Scotland under-20 in a match against English Counties’ under-20 at St Andrews University tomorrow night (Friday 4 May), kick-off 6.30pm.
McConnell, who has been playing club rugby for Ayr, is one of five EDP players named in the squad. The others are the Edinburgh Rugby quartet George Turner (pictured), Robin Hislop, Harry Leonard and Jamie Farndale.

The match is vital in assisting the management team as they finalise their 28-strong party for the Junior World Championship in South Africa next month. The Scotland under-20 squad for that tournament will be announced on Monday (7 May).
Bryan Easson, the Scots’ assistant coach, said: “This game is about getting the players back together again after the Six Nations but it’s also about having a look at some of the lads who did not play much, or at all at that point, and some who did play in our A side against the Students. “
The under-20s played English Counties last year when a last-gasp try by a certain Stuart Hogg earned them victory.
