When the Waratahs wanted to play the Scots

With the news that the NSW Waratahs don't want to play Scotland it was not always thus

With thanks to Hawks coach Chris Reid we can let you see that they were at one time delighted to play the Scots so delighted that they played at Old ANNIESLAND against a combined Glasgow Accie/Glasgow High XV representing the City

Chris Reid's grandfather Andrew Dykes played in the match and The Waratahs won 10-0

THE Scottish Rugby Union have announced a revised schedule for Scotland’s summer tour to Australia, Fiji and Samoa, and will no longer be playing Super Rugby side NSW Waratahs.

The Waratahs fixture had been scheduled for June 10 in Sydney.

Scotland team manager Gavin Scott said: “We have had confirmation from the Waratahs that due to injuries and the requirements of the Wallabies squad they would be unable to fulfil the fixture.

“We have looked into alternatives but, unfortunately, nothing else fits into our tour schedule.”

Scotland will therefore play just three Tests, against Australia (June 5), Fiji (June 16) and Samoa (June 23).
