Miller starts v Australia at Twickers

Scotland 12 Australia 27
Next up South Africa

Saturday, 12 May 2012
It was a scrappy start to the day for Scotland 7s as they were defeated 27-12 by Australia, all the Scots points coming later in the second half with tries from Michael Fedo (photo) and Sean Kennedy.
Andrew Turnbull (more audio below) said: "They were relentless in that first half, we made errors, put ourselves under pressure and they capitalised. We managed to hold the ball for one or two phases [in the second half] which made it a bit easier for us to make a few breaks.
Scotland's next game is against South Africa (k/o 14.42) and, adds Turnbull: "We have to take a step up because that wasn't good enough."

Matt Lucas opened the scoring for Australia as they set their stall out, working the line with dogged determination to put Australia 7-0 within two minutes.
A series of missed tackles from the Scots easily let Damon Anderson through for a second score, the try unconverted (12-0) and it was all one-way traffic as a fumbled knock-on from Gregor gave Australia the advantage and Anderson his second try (17-0).
A missed pass from the Scots led to turnover ball and there was no escape from the pressure of the Australian line as they bulldozed through Scotland's defence again for a fourth try, from Jenkins, to put them 22 to nil ahead at half time.
HT: 22-0
The Scots appeared to have gained more composure as they took the pitch for the second half, however it was Australia who scored again, after a missed ball from the Scotland scrum saw Anderson taking the points in the top corner, to push them ahead 27-0.
Scotland began to get into their stride during the second period of the second half, with a good string of passes involving replacement Andrew Skene which made it through to the hands of Michael Fedo to cross the whitewash, to a loud cheer from the crowd. The conversion was added to make it 27-7.
Less than two minutes later a run from Sean Kennedy up the wing, as the hooter began to sound, resulted in the Scots' second try, with no extras added, to make the final score 27-12.
