Glasgow Warriors will this Saturday seek to defend their NCS Glasgow City Sevens title when the popular Legacy Series event takes place at Cartha Queens Park.
Heading up their efforts to retain the silverware will be Scotland international stand-off Ruaridh Jackson and Scotland 7s star Rory Hughes, as well as Scott Wight and Gordon Reid, both of whom played their part in helping the Warriors reach the RaboDirect PRO12 semi-finals.
Fans will also be treated to a cameo appearance from strength and conditioning coach Huw Jones, whose reputation goes before him.
The Warriors side will be coached by former Glasgow captain Fergus Wallace, now the club’s business development manager.
The team’s first assignment is a tournament-opening clash with Boroughmuir on Pitch 1 at 1pm.
The other outfits competing in the event are Glasgow Hawks, Dalziel, Howe of Fife, GHA, Aberdeen Grammar, Munster, Hamilton, Stirling County, Whitecraigs, Samurai Scottish, Ayr, Hillhead Jordanhill, Dundee HSFP and hosts Cartha Queens Park.
Wallace told www.glasgowwarriors.org: “The NCS Glasgow City Sevens is always a great event, and we’re delighted to have been asked to participate again.
“It’s a pretty eclectic side we’re sending out, but there’s obviously a fair bit of experience and ability in there and I’m really looking forward to working with the guys on what should be another great day for rugby in Glasgow and the west.”
Adult tickets for the NCS Glasgow City Sevens are £7.50 if bought in advance, and £10 on the day. All under 18s will receive free entry.
Tickets are available HERE, from selected Glasgow Club venues, and from the clubhouse at Dumbreck.
