Ross Curle (Glasgow Academy) on target against French

Scotland Under-18 ‘A’ were guaranteed a top-four finish in the FIRA AER tournament in France with a 17-0 win over Russia U18 in Armentiers on Sunday. In the second half the Scots added two converted tries by Ayr lock Alastair Gibson and Heriot’s centre Neil Robert to a first-half penalty from Hawick Wanderers stand-off Rory Hutton.

Meanwhile, the main Scotland Under-18 side were on the receiving end of an eight-try 48-6 defeat by French Schools in Rouen. Their only points came from two Ross Curle penalties.
