Saturday was a good day for incoming GHK supremo Ronnie Gourley with triumphs in far flung fields like Grangemouth and Old ANNIESLAND a true mixture of track and field
His day was split between the leisurely locomotion of cricket where his charges were victorious over Hawks and the less leisurely pace of the Scottish Schools Athletics Championshps where son Neil won the 800 in Championship record of 1-57.7
Grangemouth is a tough place to run dependent on the prevailing wind and the proximity of the ICI Chemical plant
1-52 over 800 is a very useful time that won him the Eric Liddell Trophy so good luck to Neil in his future endeavours and at least the incoming president must have speed endurance in genes somewhere
