SCOTLAND U19 SHOOT DOWN HAWKS
Scotland under-19 defeated Glasgow Hawks development XV on the back pitches at Murrayfield last night 28-5.
Two of Scotland’s tries came from Stewart’s-Melville FP winger David McCall with the others coming from David Lowrie (Hawick) and Alex Grove (Rugby School). Stand-off former Glasgow Academy boy Ross Curle (Hillhead/Jordanhill) was on form to take maximum points from the scores.
Scotland under-19 head coach and former Hawks coach Peter Wright hailed the cohesiveness of his team’s performance saying: “I’m pleased with how the boys stood up to such a big physical challenge. It was a good performance for our first competitive match. It is invaluable preparation for our internationals.
“The only response from Hawks came from a charged-down kick, showing that we didn’t give them any real scoring opportunities,” he added.
