Accies press release
The Committee are delighted to announce the appointment of Davey Wilson as Accies new head coach for the coming season. Davey knows Anniesland well, as he was a successful player and coach at Hawks.
Davey has also led GHA and Dalziel to success over the past few years, in addition to his involved with the SRU, coaching the national side’s age groups so his experience and credentials are top drawer.
He brings with him Ally Craig, a forwards coach, who will work with our own Elliott McLaren in providing a first class coaching structure for the whole squad.
Accies will provide Davey with a different challenge from top flight rugby but the current set up at New Anniesland and the potential for significant improvement attracted Davey to Helensburgh Drive. Davey’s “real job” is teaching PE at Kelvinside Academy but in true Corinthian spirit we welcome him to the other “Accies”.
The timing is perfect as we approach pre season and we are confident that the players will step up to the plate under the guidance of the new set up and be ready and fit for the start of the new season.
The fixtures have been published and the Committee are busy preparing a fully charged programme both on and off the field.
