Party advice as to events immediately proceeding. I am informed that the Garnock player, aware of the pursuant Academcial, elected to dink a grubber kick over the home team’s line. Beattie, already committed to the tackle, was then to have “taken out” the Garnock man, giving the referee no other option than to award a penalty try. The pressure was however to eventually pay off when a penalty was awarded following an offside infringement by a Garnock forward. With a notable breeze in play, no place kick could be considered easy however Mr McLaren was to deliver once again, taking Accies back into the lead at 9 – 7.
