Good morning Gentlemen.
The December meeting of GROGS will take place at Braidholm on Wednesday 12th December 2012 at 12 noon for 12-30. As this is the Christmas meeting the bar will remain open until after 5pm for those who wish to extend their afternoon.
We are please to announce that Peter Mitchell from Aberdeen, formerly Sports Editor of the Press & Journal and much sought after after dinner speaker will be the speaker and that Roy Dingwall will be in the chair.
Last month we had 98 attendees but a further 10 indicated that they were attending but did not appear. Numbers for the December meeting are crucial as the function room only holds 120. It is therefore vital that you let me know if you plan to attend. If you know of others who wish to attend but are no being contacted by me as they do noy use a computer please ask them to call me on 0141 616 4056.
The arrangements for this meeting are as follows:
Cost: £20 includes wine and charity donation. Please pay on arrival
Gift: You are asked to bring a gift valued between £10 and £20. It must be wrapped.
Community Singing: By popular request we are re-introducing singing and song sheets will be provided. The music will be supplied by Bill Gardner on key board. Any other musician to make up an orchestra will be welcome.
Table Names: On arrival we suggest, that if you wish to sit with your usual group, that you place a name tag at a selected seat then repair to the smaller bar on the right as there will be little or no room in the main function room.
Deadline for Applications: We regret that we cannot take applications for the lunch after Sunday 9th December and to avoid disappointment please apply as soon as possible.
Your co-operation with these arrangements will be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to hearing from you and an enjoyable Christmas lunch
Alasdair Graham
