Sorry to report news of our 1st defeat of the season.We had to wait for the semi final of the district tournament to experience it.That means however no trip to Murrayfield this year.Report undernoted for posting.

S2 Glasgow District Tournament

It was all going swimmingly in the group stages and the quarter final.We didnt concede a point and scored lots of tries.We then met GHA in the semi final.
This should have been the final,GHA and Hawks were by far the best teams in the competition.As it turned out GHA proved themselves to be the best team on the day by easily defeating West in the final.
What of our semi final?Our boys played with pride and determination.It was tight from the start. GHA really took hold from early on putting us under all sorts of pressure.We defended manfully with fantastic tackling from Finn Campbell Young,Rory Taylor and Joff Stenhouse.However on the stroke of half time a defensive kick was charged down and GHA squeezed over for what turned out to be the only try of the game.
The second half was better so far as Hawks were concerned and there is no doubt in my mind that if the game had been a full one and not just played for 10 mins each way that we would have scored and have gone on to win.No sour grapes though,GHA deserved their win and we wish them well in the rest of the tournament.
Our next fixture is Sunday 4th December against GHA at Anniesland.I have no doubts that the boys will want to show exactly what they can do over the full game.It promises to be a cracker.KO is at 1:00pm and all support would be greatly appreciated.
