Former Glasgow Hawk Andy Henderson was outstanding for Scotland
New Zealand completed a 'grand slam' of the home nations after a hard fought win over a battling Scotland side at Murrayfield yeesterday.
Despite the 29-10 defeat, Scotland will take a lot of heart from this display which saw them dominate territory in the second half.
Andy Henderson was the stand-out of the Glasgow boys on show. He was tireless in defence and made some hard yards for his team.
Scott Lawson was prominent in the loose and was convinced he had touched down for Scotland, but the video judge was unable to award the try. Dan Parks was resolute in defence and kicked well in slippery conditions, particularly a clever cross-kick to Chris Paterson that nearly came off. Craig Hamilton battled well against the hugely powerfull New Zealand pack.
Sean Lamont confirmed that he's one the the most exciting runners in European rugby, reminding us again that more should have been done to try to keep him playing in Scotland.
Of course, it wasn't a win, and New Zealand could probably pick another couple of XVs that are just as strong. But, with the Scotland squad likely to be strengthened with the return of few players after injury, there is definitely a little light at the end of the tunnel.
