Message from SRU
We have been working in partnership with clubs in the Glasgow area to develop a 2013 Summer Social Rugby Series aimed at providing clubs and individuals the opportunity to play in a series of events throughout May & June. As we know many people are finding it harder & harder to make time commitment needed to playing regular season 2nd/3rd team fixtures and sustaining their participation in the game. The Summer Social Rugby Series is designed to provide social rugby players with accessible opportunity to play the game in a fun, friendly competitive environment.
The programme consists of 4 events through May & June;
Friday 10th May - GHA
Friday 24th May - West of Scotland
Friday 7th June - Hamilton RFC
Friday 14th June – Cartha QP
At these events teams will play in a half hour each, way full contact, XV a side fixture played to U19 Law Variations. It is our intention to play 4 games over two pitches at each event with 2 games kicking off at 6.30pm & the next 2 kicking off at 7.45pm.
We are looking for 8 teams to form each event. Teams or individuals can get involved, we will do our best to match individuals into suitable teams – if we are over subscribed we will try to accommodate additional fixtures but this will depend on the event and the facilities available.
Each event is stand alone (i.e no points or trophies at the end..) however we will do our best to ensure that as all teams have the opportunity to play each other over the course of the series. Please note teams do not need to commit to all events in order to take part.
If you would like to enter a team/group of players please submit the attached form to Kris Burney [email protected] before Thursday 25th April (places will be allocated on a 1st come first serve basis)
If you would like to discuss please feel free to give me a call 07764178909,
