Hawks look to avenge Currie defeat in BT Cup

The draw for the fourth round of the BT Cup took place today at Murrayfield and it has conjured up some mouth watering prospects.

Last years’ fixture between Currie and then reigning champions Glasgow Hawks has again reared its head and will give Hawks an opportunity to revenge their last minute defeat 24-19.

Other exciting all-BT Premiership Division One encounters see Stirling County take on Aberdeen GSFP who look to make up for last years semi-final shock from Dundee HSFP and Biggar travel to Melrose.

Meanwhile, Boroughmuir travel to East Kilbride, a game which will be closely monitored by Edinburgh Gunners’ flanker Alasdair Strokosch, a product of East Kilbride who later moved to the capital outfit.

Full of confidence, Boroughmuir No 8 Ben Fisher said: “I am happy with the draw. We would have liked to have got a BT Premiership Division One club to knock out but East Kilbride still pose a threat to our campaign.

“We haven’t played them in the six years I’ve been at the club so it’s nice to play someone new,” he added.

All fixtures are to be played on Saturday 21 January (kick-off 2pm).
