Edinburgh Accies 18- 20 Glasgow Hawks

Good away win to kick off season. Hawks showed great enterprise in first 25 mins. Quality tries by debutants Robbie Houliston and Robert Beattie just reward for hard working performances by both. Tries both originated from good set piece work then forwards getting over gain line before good continuity out wide and quality finishes. 17-3 after half hour but edge taken off performance by couple of sin bins. Accies had useful line-out drive all game and scored after 33mins , 17-8.
Down to 13 for last few minutes of half , defence was severely tested but physicality and organisation held line intact.
Teams cancelled each other out for most of a bruising 2nd half, a penalty for each team and a few chances scorned by Hawks. 20-11 going into injury time. Accies eventually breached Hawks defence, which had stood resolute all game . 20-18 , and game finished with Hawks winning a couple of late penalties and securing hard fought win.
