Strathendrick v GHK Match Preview
Another Saturday, another tough league fixture. GHK travel to Fintry to face 4th placed Strathendrick. With Marr still top by a solitary point, albeit having played a game more, GHK must win this - hopefully with a bonus point - with the Ayrshire side having an easy home match against Loch Lomond.
The hosts have an excellent home record, winning every game bar last weekend's narrow loss to Marr. The leaders failing to gain the important bonus point. With many ex Endrick "stars" now in GHK colours, the match has the added spice in that this is the first time they have returned to Fintry since changing allegiance. The home side will be desperate to get one over their former teammates.
GHK travel with their 100% record still in tact after last weekend's rusty win over Cumbernauld. This game will be one of the toughest they will face this season. A 19-0 victory in the reverse fixture went to show that it is unlikely to be an easy ride for either team. However, the title challenging GHK are flying high and confidently just now and will be desperate to keep the ball rolling.
Squad News
A re-jigging of the backline this week for GHK sees Stuart Hunter finally make his return at full back, having called off just before kick off last weekend due to illness. Ali Smeaton and Jaimie Millan both revert to their usual centre and fly half roles respectively. The pack sees no fewer than 4 changes. Gordi Reid start at hooker and Stuart Pollock returns to number 8 after his late call off last weekend. The middle row is all change with the return of Neil Gilmartin and Peter Broadbent. The bench is still to be finalised but Gillon Rand is definitely there.
