GLASGOW Hawks coach Jamie Dempsey reckons his men were motivated by their emotions as they pulled off a salvage act at Hawick.
The hosts had looked on course for a win - only for the fired-up Anniesland brigade to snatch a last-gasp 17-all draw.
And Dempsey is sure the serious injuries suffered by squad mate Ally Maclay in a late-night attack which is being probed by police was the spur behind their comeback.
He said: "It definitely enhanced our determination. The episode has affected the club massively.
"It was a long week and the guys came through it well, but I am still struggling to comprehend what has happened."
Gavin Lowe emerged as the man who mattered most by plunging over for the late try, the earlier score having come from James Gormley.
Dempsey added: "Conditions were dreadful and I did wonder if the pitch would become unplayable.
"It was a bit of a lottery out there."
