CLUB CAPTAIN Andy Henderson believes cup success could be they key to turning GHA’s season around .
He told ExtraSport: “It will be massive if we win on Saturday. This season has been a bit disappointing losing quite a few games in the league and not being in a good position in the league.
“But to have a cup final and win it and have something to show for the season will be a massive boost for the club.”
IF GHA are to win the RBS West regional cup, they will have to go through Glasgow Hawks first.
The Braidholm side defeated Hillhead Jordanhil 39-22 to earn their place in the final, which will be played at old Anniesland on Saturday.
Donald Malcolm will make his return to old Anniesland, after the hooker spent several years with the Premier one side. while Niall Cassie, who scored a pair of tries from the unfamiliar position of stand-off on Saturday will hope to continue his flurry of form after an injury lay-off.
Meanwhile, Glasgow Hawks will be hoping to go one better this season after finishing runners-up last year losing 15-10 to Ayr. They will be aided by the return of centre Ally MacLay, who is set to return to the side, after injury kept him off the pitch since October.
Both sides will hope to find glory in the cup, as both teams have been on the losing side eight times in their respective divisions.
Henderson knows the the National league side will have to be at their best if they are to come away with silverware.
The former Glasgow Warrior told ExtraSport: “They are a quality side being in the top league. They have some excellent players and will be used to a quicker pace playing in the league above us.
“We know we will have to raise our game and we will have to play at our best to stand a chance.
“I think it will be good to test ourselves and see where we stand compared to the top teams.
“We will have to put in our best performance of the season. We will have a good week of training this week and go out and take the game to them.”
