Scotland Club International head coach, Phil Leck has made eight changes to the starting line-up that play France Fédérale on Friday night (7 March, kick-off 7.30pm) at Old Anniesland, Glasgow.
Lock Craig Borthwick and scrum-half George Graham (both Gala), number 8 Jason Hill (Heriot’s) and centre Jack Steele (Glasgow Hawks) all come into the side having had no involvement in the Ireland match, while prop Rory Sutherland has been promoted from the bench to partner debutant Ewan McQuillin.
Furthermore, half-backs, George Graham (Gala)[pictured] and Stuart Edwards (Stirling County) start in place of Peter Jericevich (Ayr) and Richard Mill (Melrose) respectively, who drop to the bench.
Leck said: “We have been forced to make some changes to the team due to injury and work commitments, which has made things difficult. But, this gives us an opportunity to give other players a go.
France are a very strong and direct side. We have to try and fight fire with fire and we hope the conditions will be good and we can play some rugby.
“Murray [Douglas] captained well last time and the players respect him, so nothing changes there.
“We’re all really looking forward to the match. All we need now is a good run-out on Thursday and then we’re off.”
On the bench prop Nicky Little (Melrose) and wing Grant Sommerville (Gala) come in and could win their first caps.
