THE Ospreys are ready to mount a vigorous defence of their Wales Grand Slam centre Gavin Henson when he faces a potential season-defining disciplinary hearing in Glasgow today.
Henson has been summoned before a three-man panel, chaired by the Scottish Rugby Union's Rod McKenzie. He faces charges of elbowing Leicester prop Alex Moreno, and then aiming a kick at the same player, during an ill-tempered Heineken Cup clash between the Ospreys and Leicester last Sunday.
Moreno was left with a broken nose after the elbowing incident, and he spent almost a quarter of the game being treated before returning after half-time to play the entire second period.
The minimum ban for elbowing an opponent is a fortnight, but the kicking charge carries a minimum three-month punishment.
