The games follow what was considered a hugely beneficial under-19 fixture against Australia Schools in November, and have been arranged to help bridge the gap between the U18 FIRA-AER European Championships and the beginning of the international under-20 programme that starts in September.

The squad will meet for two training sessions at BT Murrayfield Stadium next Sunday 6 and 13 August, before spending a week in Bucharest from Monday 18 August.

Scotland under-20 head coach Sean Lineen will also travel as team manager to cast an eye over the young players coming under his stewardship after the summer.

Pollock, said: "This is a new extension to the under-18 programme.

"The camp will help to extend the focus for the players' training, both for their continuation into the under-20 programme and to get them in the best possible condition to return to, or join, a club and compete for a place in the first team.”
