Sponsor staff member fist bumps Bolt

18-year-old sprint hopeful Juliet Gold reflected yesterday on her golden Commonwealth Games moment with superstar Usain Bolt. The 200m runner with Victoria Park City Of Glasgow AC told scottishrunningguide.com: "It had been a great week at Hampden Park helping the competing athletes transporting their kit at the stadium.

"On Friday a number of us found out we would be doing the relay but it was only minutes before heading out that six of us were told we’d be carrying for Usain Bolt’s leg of the race. We were all excited and totally overawed and I couldn't believe it when he chose me to look after his kit.

"He was having a good time and joked with me about his leg number tags. Then he did his warm-up run and came back for the race. That’s when he put his fist out. It was the best moment of my life."

The Usain Bolt fist bump came just a few weeks after Juliet had carried the Queen's baton in her home town of Kirkintilloch and she said: "The last few weeks have been inspirational. I have been injured and out of action but now I'm looking forward to getting fit and getting back on the track and posting some good times."

Juliet works at Glasgow running store achilles heel and owner Katie Alexander said: "We couldn't believe it when we saw Juliet laughing and joking with Usain Bolt. We've been kidding her on today but we're all really proud of her."
