MORE ACTION FROM GHK V MELROSE

GHK XV 31 MELROSE XV 10
GHK won this resurrected New Year fixture to regain the Forbes trophy. The pitch was just declared playable after overnight frost and proved to be in excellent condition. A hard fought first half saw few scores as both sides battled up front. A tendency to run everything in the spirit of the game meant a plethora of turnovers to excite the crowd.
In the second half GHK's superior fitness reaped dividends with star winger,Rory Love running in 3 tries. With many of the GHK regulars away 3 of the GHK 2nds stepped up admirably to fill the gaps. Thanks in particular to Alex Christie who played out of position as injuries mounted.
GHK look forward to the return fixture next year at Melrose.
