Dearlove deal denied

GLASGOW yesterday denied that utility forward Paul Dearlove had moved to struggling French side Pau, who claimed that the lineout specialist had signed a contract with them until the end of the season with the option of an extension.

It is believed that Dearlove, who has just recovered from a head injury(sustained playing for Hawks at Millbrae), has asked for an early release from his Warriors contract, which is due to run until May.

However, a Glasgow spokesman insisted: "Nothing has been settled. The situation is likely to become more clear later in the week."

Glasgow rookie Scott Forrest has been called into the Scotland squad for the IRB Sevens tournaments in Wellington and Los Angeles next month. He will replace Edinburgh's Rob Dewey, who dislocated his shoulder against London Wasps in the Heineken Cup last Saturday
