Aaaaaahhhhh! Nostalgia! Who could ever forget the brilliant inter-passing on the far touchline in the Murrayfield cup final of 1998 – prelude to a thrilling try - between those two outstanding lock forwards, the mobile and experienced Chas Afuakwah and the young, vigorous – eh, what’s-‘is-name?
Another body-beautiful (Another? Who was the first?), namely Eugene Martin, has also failed to make the frame, together with such luminaries as Gerry Hawkes, Matt McGrandles, Ricky Munday, Ally Common, The Honourable Torquil G D Mathewson (not to mention the team selection and management skills of his dad!), Stuart Low, Wes Henry, Calum McGregor, Stuart Simmers, a certain Captain Wavy Dilson, Mike (the smiling dentist) Blackie, Kevin Horton, Alan Perrie, Gavin Mories, Greg Francis and Stevie Winter.
And, of course, there was that loopy young lock. Blow me if I can’t remember his name
Note from Ed--nobody has mentioned James Adams so I will
