COMPETITIONS COMMISSION



As part of its strategy for the ongoing development of the community game, the Scottish Rugby Board is seeking nominations for individuals to serve on the newly constituted Competitions Commission.

The function of the Competitions Commission will be to ensure that the competition structures support Scottish Rugby’s strategies for growing the game and long term player development and, within this context, to review, monitor and make recommendations on:

• The shape of the competitive season • The competition structures at all levels, including age grade • The competition rules relevant to the different levels of the sport

Nominations are sought on behalf of individuals with some or all of the following attributes:

• An understanding of the role of competitions in growing the game and player development • Knowledge of the competitive structures of Scottish club and/or schools rugby • Experience and/or knowledge of the organisation and running of competitions • An understanding and appreciation of competition rules

The day to day running of the individual competitions will continue to be in the hands of the relevant league committees. The role of the Competitions Commission is to take a holistic view of the broader structures within which these competitions operate.
