Paul Le Guen will attempt to emulate Hawks Ricky Munday's achievement when he tackles the Marathon des Sables--Ricky manged the feat two years ago
HEAT IS ON FOR IBROX MARATHON MAN PAUL
NEW Rangers boss Paul Le Guen has shown he's not afraid of a challenge - by signing up for one of the world's toughest races.
Superfit Le Guen, 42, who takes over at Ibrox in July, will compete in the Marathon des Sables, a six-day slog across the Sahara, in April.
More than 750 runners are heading to Morocco to take on the gruelling 151-mile course.
Superfit Le Guen is believed to be the highest-profile participant for the event, which takes place in temperatures of up to 120F.
Le Guen is running with three other Frenchmen, Thierry Danjou, Christian Jubin and Jean-Marc Trihan in the race, the equivalent of five and a half marathons.
Competitors raise money for charity and have to carry their sleeping bags, food, clothes and medical kit in a rucksack on their backs.
