WRIGHT - WALES A KNOWN QUANTITY
Scotland Under-19 head coach Peter Wright has named his team to take on Wales in the second pool game of the IRB U19 World Championship in Dubai.
On the heavy defeat to Australia two days ago, Wright said: “The boys are hurting. Their confidence was rocked big time because they have never experience a game with such intensity before.
“We are just trying to get the smiles back on their faces and we have to remember that we have played Wales already this year so they are a known quantity to us.”
Stirling County’s Stuart McGee flies out today to replace Stewart’s Melville winger David McCall who will return home for treatment on a damaged hamstring. McCall’s place is handed to fellow Stewart’s Melville colleague Colin Goudie.
In the centre, Richard Mill moves from the wing and replaces the injured Jack Cuthbert whilst Hawick centre Graham Hogg gets a starting berth in place of Andrew Easson who has a damaged shoulder. Alex Grove is promoted from the bench to slot in at No 11.
Meanwhile, Jamie Hunter swaps with Murray Bringhurst for the No 9 shirt.
In the pack, Ayr prop Gordon Reid replaces Alan Dymock who drops to the bench.
Richard Vernon moves from lock to the back row to replace Ross MacDonald who moves to the bench. Daniel Levison is handed the No 4 shirt to fill the gap left by Vernon.
The final change sees Ellon number 8 Willie Lipp swap with David Lambert for the game which will be televised live on Sky Sports 2.
