Peebles 0 Glasgow Hawks 17
Steven Duffy put Hawks ahead when Ian Monaghan played him in from inside the Peebles '22. Monaghan added the conversion from in front of the posts as Hawks went into the break ahead.
Monaghan added to his team's advantage with a tight run down the sideline to touch down in the corner before Stuart Low extended Hawk's lead further with a score in the opposite corner. Both Monaghan's conversion attempts from the sidelines both fell short, but the city side had done enough to secure a second round tie with Jed-Forest.

Jammie McCraw put the Borderers into an early lead with Greig Laidlaw converting. McCraw extended Jed’s lead when he outpaced Ian Monaghan in a race for the line, but Greig Laidlaw’s conversion attempt fell short.
A kick ahead by Ross Goodfellow was ran on to by Roy McFarlane who controlled the bounce well to collect the ball and dive over from close range. Greig Laidlaw added a further two points with his boot.
Stephen Biggart and Ricki Munday then combined for Hawks to send Steven Duffy across in the right hand corner. Sean Murray closed the gap for Hawks, but time had ran out for the city side and it was Jed who progressed.
