Scotland beat Romania at Sharjah Wanderers’ ground this afternoon to qualify for a ninth-tenth play-off in the IRB Under-19 World Championship in Dubai. The play-off match will be against Samoa at the same venue on Friday.
Tries from Jamie Hunter, Richard Vernon, Ross McCallum and two for Stewart’s Melville FP fullback Colin Goudie. Dundee HSFP and Scotland U19 captain Cameron Ferguson slotted three penalties and two conversions for a tally of 13 points in the match and 24 so far in the tournament.
