STAKES for Sunday’s special SRU general meeting have been raised after it was reported that director of rugby Ian McGeechan could announce his resignation to join Bath at the gathering.

South West England media quote "Scottish rugby insiders" as believing "McGeechan will tender his resignation clearing the way for a return to the [English] Premiership."
