15 A Side Rugby Is Alive and Kicking

Hawks Under 15s travelled to Dalziel today to participate in the host club\'s
Festival of Rugby.

Due to school commitments the squad comprised of 11 Under 15s and 5 from
the S2s.

We played three games, losing 17 - 0 to Dalziel; 7 -0 to Currie and drawing
5-5 with Forrestors with the late arriving David Currie coming on as a replacement
for our only try.

Considering we had a back playing as prop, no recognised locks, and just
about everyone playing out of position, combined with our S2 re-inforcements
the boys all performed heroically. The heads never went down and they battled
manfully in every game. It was one of those days when we just didn\'t get
any breaks - from the refs or the ball.

Our thanks to Robbie, Jonathan, Sean, Finlay and Chris from the S2s for their
efforts. Hope you enjoyed this glimpse of Under 15 rugby and is of use to
the squad for next season.

For the Under 15s it is Onwards and (hopefully) Upwards as tomorrow we travel
to face Kilmarnock in the Glasgow District Cup Semi Final with hopefully
a full squad. Kick off 2.00.
