Another wonderful GHK Hockey/Rugby dinner with the inevitable carnage
in the bar afterwards. The evening started with a convoluted joke
from the President involving actual duck feathers seemingly issuing
from his mouth. Does uncle Arnold know what his employees do with
their lunchtimes? Hugh, as token Accie, did a specially customised
GHK grace.
The award ceremony started with the hockey girls still celebrating
their Scottish Plate win. A special award of Supergirl was given to
Nikki for her bravery throughout her recent illness. A standing
ovation was deservedly given. Sally exceeded her 3 minute speech
limit but as everyone had to drink everytime she said GHK there were
no complaints!
The mini/midi section awards were presented by Ronnie who awarded
Pamela Dunlop an enhanced version of the "naked bar ' photo. Ronnie
then invited Sal up to replicate her lifting feat from the calendar
with several large coaches . This she did with a mixture of ease and
aplomb.
As compere, Scottie, asked the ladies who did not recognise him
fully clothed from the calendar if they wanted him to disrobe.
Surprisingly there were no takers.

Yoda then awarded the 2nd xv Player of the Year award to that superb
back row forward- Rod McLeod.

The GHK 1st xv award of Young Player of the Year went to that
devastating tackler-Peter Broadbent.

The GHK Clubman of the Year was jointly awarded to Gillon Rand and
his Siamese twin Ollie Jones for services to the club especially the
tour and bar profits.

Most Improved Player of the Year was awarded to the powerhouse prop-
Ali Forbes.

The GHK Player of the Year went to Andy McTavish whose strength and
try scoring abilities on the wing made him a worthy winner.

The GHK team of the year was awarded to the 1st xv for their
excellent league season and cup run.

The evening was rounded off by the inevitable boat race challenge- no
clear winners but lots of fun.
