The GHK mini-section Primary 7 squad had their first taste of rugby touring
when they visited Belfast last weekend. The under-12 International Festival
of Rugby was our destination where our hosts, Malone RFC, and 15 other
teams were awaiting us from all corners of the Home Nations. Following 2
days of action and matches against Malone, Saracens, Caerphilly, Clontarf,
Effingham & Leatherhead and Maidenhead, we didn't have any silverware but
we had some great memories to take home. The one black spot was that one of
our squad broke his arm ? get well soon Greg ? but even he was smiling when
he got a standing ovation on his return from the hospital! Thanks to our
hosts at Malone for a very well run tournament and thanks to the parents
who came with us to keep the peace. The travelling squad was:
Greg Balfour
Rory Cairnduff
Andrew Campbell
Graeme Cleary
Paul Donovan
Taylor Flynn
Andrew Hazell
Douglas Hazell
Anish Majhu
Alastair McNaughton
Jamie Roy
Alasdair Schreiber
Tom Walsh
