SCOTLAND 66, BARBARIANS 19
Posted: 31/May/06
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Scots rattled up nine tries to demolish the Barbarians at Murrayfield this evening, with Chris Paterson scoring 31 points, with two tries, 9 conversions and 1 penalty. Only the sight of Ally Hogg limping off just before the end clouded an otherwise good night for Frank Hadden's men.
Much of the game was a fairly disjointed affair with the Scots going into half-time 24-12 up, with tries from Man of the Match Blair, Henderson and Paterson. The Baa-Baa's scores came from Malone and Hanley.
The Scots started pulling away straight after the re-start and just kept scoring thereafter, with Paterson scoring the last try - his second - a couple of minutes from the end.
The Hogg injury aside, then (and at the time of writing, the extent of the injury is unknown) it was an entertaining for the 28,600 crowd, and a satisfying one for the Scotland coaching team eager to show more of a cutting edge.
