ONE OF PERCY'S CLAIMS TO FAME

On the 17th September 1962 West opened their new ground at Burnbrae having been homeless since 1946
During this period they had relied heavily on both Old and New Anniesland to survive.
The match to open the new ground was against Glasgow HSFP by way of thanking them for their support.
The honour of scoring the first ever try at Burnbrae fell to loyal Hawks supporter and former Scottish Cap Percy Friebe.

Percy not only played for GHSFP but also Moseley ,Midlands and the RAF
