GHK are pleased to announce that Ryan Welsh is to be the club?s new forwards/player coach.
Ryan has been a stalwart of the GHK pack for the last two seasons after an illustrious playing career that has seen him play for Trinity Accies, Paris University, Racing Club Paris, Edinburgh age group sides and Edinburgh Back up teams as well as the Hawks.
Ryan currently works as a History teacher at Dollar Academy where he also coaches the school team and is now specialist forwards coach for the senior teams.
He joins Ali Mcara as assistant coach working with Head Coach David Ross, who recently attended the Level 3 Rugby Union Coaching Course at Loughborough University. This coaching team now has a clear focus and goals to achieve GHK?s development plan of moving up the leagues and getting three teams playing regularly every Saturday.
This coaching team provides GHK with a real springboard for pushing for the league title after coming so close in the last two years. With some new recruits coming on board over the close season, GHK cannot wait to get the season under way.
If any aspiring player wants to come and be involved in a great rugby/social club with an excellent coaching team then please get in touch with Head Coach David Ross on 07736457607 or find out preseason training details on our website www.ghkrfc.com
