Former London Scottish back, Olly Jones, will captain GHK this coming season continuing on from last year, which was unfortunately cut short due to injury. Olly, who came to the club in the middle of the 2004-2005 season, has been a major part of the club?s revival both on and off the field since his arrival and the coaching team are delighted that he has agreed to take on the captaincy again this year.
Olly represented the Hawks 1 st XV last season and was a key player in their 7s team as well as his experience from London Scottish and St Andrew?s University. Olly has also starred in the Hong Kong 10?s tournament. Olly?s style of play suits the expansive approach adopted by the coaching staff and with the appointment of Ryan Welsh as Player/coach with responsibility for the forwards last week, the club are hoping that the right blend will be struck to see the league title finally come to Old Anniesland.
