Cosa ci puoi dire di te, da dove vieni e quali esperienze hai fatto in passato?
Ho 25 anni e vengo da Glasgow, Scozia, sono laureato in scienze sportive applicate all' Università di Edinburgo. Sono un fanatico di rugby e gioco a rugby dall'età di sette anni.
Ho avuto un incarico per lo sviluppo del rugby per più di 4 anni nei quali sono stato l' addetto per lo sviluppo e direttore regionale per la Rugby Union Scozzese. Ho una buona comprensione di rugby come allenatore, consolidata dalla conoscenza teorica acquisita con le mie esperienze personali a tutti i livelli del gioco. Ora il mio lavoro lavoro e` indirizzato verso i giocatori di rugby in fase di sviluppo. Nel mio ruolo precedente ho lavorato con la Glasgow U15, ed un selezione speciale Under 17 chiamata The Thistles (i Cardi) con i quali fui coinvolto nello sviluppo della tecnica individuale di questo gruppi di giocatori. Ho giocato ad un livello professionale con i Glasgow Howks e` cio` mi ha consentito di imparare giocando il ruolo di educatore.

Un paese, una lingua ed una cultura nuovi, come vedi la sfida?
Il Rugby è un gioco globale così io non vedo grandi barriere e sono sicuro che condividerò tutti i momenti alti e bassi con i giocatori, allenatori, volontari e sostenitori del club in nome dei valori dello sport. Ho viaggiato in molto paesi e sono stato allenato da molti allenatori 'Top'. Non vedo l'ora di inserirmi nella cultura italiana ed imparare la lingua., cosi` come sara` stimolante per me accettare la sfida di far parte per la prima volta di un Club di rugby italiano professionale.

L' Arix viadana rugby club abbraccerà una filosofia nuova che riguarda il modo di giocare a rugby basato sullo stile neozelandese. Cosa pensi di questo e del modo in cui il rugby si sta sviluppando a livello mondiale?
A mio parere il rugby in Nuova Zelanda è giocato nei in un' ottica diretta verso il rugby internazionale ed il modello e` chiaramente lo stile Super 14 che rende il gioco divertente e spettacolare. Il rugby è un gioco semplice che si trasforma in qualcosa di complesso.
In Nuova Zelanda l' apprendimento del rugby avviene sostanzialmente con il divertimento ma in nun ambiente di grande intensita` agonistica e cio` permette loro di essere sempre all' altezza per affrontare le tante sfide negli scenari piu` difficili.
A Viadana spero di vedere a tutti i livelli i giocatori impegnarsi in gara sulle basi della velocita` e della precisione e sviluppare in modo piu` intenso la tecnica in allenamento. Mi sembra che, con la nuova filosofia adottata dal Rugby Viadana ci sia anche la volontà` di impegnarsi concretamente per fare un decisivo salto di qualità` in linea con l' evoluzione del rugby moderno.
