Allan Glen’s and Irvine are the latest clubs to be added to the list for the inaugural Glasgow Warriors Club Touch Tournament this coming Sunday (30 July) at The Warriors training base, Whitecraigs rugby club in Newton Mearns.
The tournament sees 32 clubs in eight pools vie to become the touch rugby champions in what promises to be a great day out for all the family.
The Warriors professional players, including Scotland players such as Jon Petrie, Andy Henderson, Ally Kellock, Donnie Macfadyen, Dan Parks, and Scott Lawson will be refereeing the club matches, so will no doubt be subjected to some banter from the club players, and there’ll be lots more going to add to the fun including a chance to see the Calcutta Cup up close, a DJ, barbeque, tug of war, autograph sessions and the opportunity to lend your support to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games bid.
Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: “We want to be at the heart of the community as far as rugby in the Glasgow area is concerned. Whether you are a regular rugby supporter or have never been to a match before, the day will be a great opportunity to come along, enjoy the friendly atmosphere and see what it’s all about - everyone’s welcome and everybody at the Warriors is looking forward to seeing you there.”
