WARRIORS TO FACE`FALCONS

Experienced scrum-half Graeme Beveridge may feature in both Glasgow Warriors’ games against Newcastle Falcons at Burnbrae tomorrow.

Beveridge, 30, the senior pro in the Glasgow squad, enjoyed his “50 minute run-about” in last week’s 55-5 victory over Moseley – his first match in seven months having recovered from a neck injury.

Tomorrow the six-times-capped Beveridge will captain Glasgow Warriors’ back-up team in the match against Newcastle Falcons’ Development team, which kicks-off at 4.30pm. Thereafter he may play at some point in the respective clubs’ first XV clash which kicks-off at 6.30pm. Warriors’ latest internationalist, Sam Pinder, will start at scrum-half in the later match. Admission to both games is free.

Beveridge said: “The guys have all trained well pre-season and we’ve got some good quality signings. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s matches. A lot of boys are competing for places in our opening Magners League match against the Dragons in a fortnight.”

Listed among the replacements for the back-up game is Andy Rennick, the former Border Reivers and Scotland A back-row forward. Rennick, who learned his rugby in Glasgow, was released by Reivers at the end of last season and is currently considering his options.
