HAWKS MATCH REPORT

SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY
AT Anniesland it appeared that Hawks will struggle to retain their title while Watsonians could be the team to seize it.

The Myreside team have beefed up their pack through prop Kyle Traynor and No.8 Bill Rowley and that was the foundation of their win.

The visitors had the better of the first half but relied on the boot of No.10 Mike Ker for their interval lead. The first penalty was struck home in the fifth minute following Hawks' Ken Bailley receiving man and high ball simultaneously.

In 21 minutes Hawks were detected pulling down a maul and Ker kicked the wide out penalty. With four minutes left he stuck over his third while, on the whistle, Mike Adamson was unable to pull three points back with his only attempt of the half.

The second half was only five minutes old when the first try arrived, a beauty from centre Andrew Skene, who was given space from a long pass but still had a lot to do, with Ker converting. In 63 minutes a driven lineout was finished off by Rowley while Richard McKnight got Hawks try in 79 minutes converted by Adamson.
